Project Management

The completion of a successful project is a wonderful experience and can be guaranteed through
  • efficient team communication
  • completing all tasks according to schedule
  • controlling budget
  • maintaining a high level of quality

Project Plan Development
All project details are thoroughly discussed during the proposal phase and Flying Ground will document, in detail, all of the deliverables and milestones so that an accurate cost estimate for services can be prepared. As the project progresses, any changes to the original project plan will be noted and immediately communicated.

Project Cost Estimating
After a project has been fully outlined and all aspects of the work are agreed upon, the number of hours estimated to complete each task of the project is calculated. These hours are then multiplied by our hourly rate and presented back for approval. Sensitivity to client budget is a priority.

Communication
Arguably the most important component of any successful project is a comprehensive communication plan based on individual client's needs. Communication plans focus on the "who, when, and how" aspects of delivering project information and are created at the beginning of every project.

Schedule
The project schedule listing major project milestones is created and approved. Schedules are examined weekly with the project team as part of the communication process and are updated as needed.

Meetings and Status Updates
Weekly meetings and structured status updates are invaluable tools for preventing project failure and are important in the goal of "organizing chaos." Status updates focus on the following factors:

  • project plan is being followed
  • schedule milestones are being met
  • costs are being maintained
  • project risk reviews are being held

Change Requests
Requests for a change in the project plan during the course of development may impact the project cost estimating structure. These changes can often be absorbed within the original hourly estimate. If additional project management hours are required, Flying Ground will submit a Change Order listing the change description, additional cost/hours, and any impact to the project schedule.

Learning Management System Production

What is e-Learning? One definition describes e-Learning as Web-based learning, computer-based learning, virtual classrooms, and digital collaboration. But e-Learning needs to be more than just a straight translation of the traditional classroom teaching tools. Flying Ground has designed and produced online courses using the such e-Learning products as Blackboard Learning SystemTM and WebCTTM which capture this innovative concept.
